Best Paper For Fine Art Prints

Giclée (gee-klay) printing is the highest quality reproduction print method on the market.  We use a 12 color ink jet printer, acid free papers, and pigment based archival inks to produce museum quality art prints. "According to legend", these giclee prints will last 100+ years, never degrading yellowing, or fading over time.

We carry several different types of fine art paper that is specifically constructed for high quality printing. While there are subtle differences in each type of paper, we have found these types of papers (mentioned below) to work best for our clients. The major differences between the paper are thickness and tooth. A paper's tooth describes the feel of the surface of the paper. Typically, the more tooth the paper has, the rougher and more porous the paper feels.

Our Hahnemuhle Albrecht Durer and German Etching papers have the most tooth we offer. The first is a lighter weight paper, easy to roll and ship in tubes. The second is thicker and more durable, suitable for traveling and arts and crafts markets. Both of these work great for watercolor paintings, tattoo flash, and digital art that needs an extra organic feel added to the original artwork.

Both our Velvet Rag and Fine Touch Cotton Rag are extra thick and very smooth cotton papers. The velvet rag has the slightest amount of tooth, while the fine touch has a slight peach fuzzy feel. These art papers are ideal for printing black and white, color photographs, as well as fine art reproductions. The Cotton Rag has a natural white finish and has the smoothest surface of all our papers, adding a warm finish to your fine art prints. The Velvet Rag has a bright white finish creating brilliant ranges and high contrast art.

It goes without saying that Canvas adds class to your art reproductions. Most artists know that painting and printing on canvas adds extra value to the price of the original and reproductions. They're easily frame-able using stretcher bars (aka gallery wraps). You will notice canvas prints in hotels, doctor's offices, and your local arts and crafts store. Our 400 gsm Canvas is a matte coated poly-cotton with a fine, uniform surface texture. Its bright white color produces clear, fresh, and detailed prints while adding depth.

Giclée prints can increase in value over time because they are archival quality and 99% true to the original. Color matching services are included with your order along with your choice of fine art paper.
